Türkiye ve Çin, ekonomik forumda işbirliğini genişletmeyi hedefliyor

On April 18, 2024, the 6th Türkiye-China Economic Forum took place in Istanbul, Türkiye, where representatives gathered to discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade relations and extend cooperation across various sectors. Chinese Ambassador to Türkiye, Liu Shaobin, and representatives from prominent Chinese tech companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi, attended the event organized by Okan University. Liu highlighted the significant progress in economic and trade relations between the two countries in recent years, emphasizing the potential for collaboration in digital economy, green economy, and new energy sectors. Korhan Kurdoglu, leading the China Working Group at the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD), expressed Türkiye’s interest in attracting more investments from China, particularly in tourism, energy, and new technologies.

Throughout the forum, Türkiye and Chinese company representatives engaged in bilateral meetings to establish new partnerships. Bilal Eksi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, and Cheng Xiaobo, director of Sichuan Airlines in Türkiye, expressed their intentions to expand flight routes to facilitate increased bilateral exchanges and tourism. In recent years, Türkiye and China have witnessed robust trade and economic cooperation, with bilateral trade volume reaching 38.55 billion U.S. dollars in 2022 and further growing to 43.40 billion dollars in the previous year.

The 6th Türkiye-China Economic Forum served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration between the two countries, fostering discussions on enhancing trade relations and exploring opportunities for cooperation in diverse sectors. As both Türkiye and China continue to deepen their economic and trade ties, forums like this play a crucial role in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutual growth and development.
